Again for 2008 our Rotary Club sponsored 3 students from Guelph's Bishop MacDonell High School to attend the 3-day Rotary-sponsored "Camp Enterprise" in Waterloo....

The Golden Triangle Rotary Clubs' Camp Enterprise every year gives selected high school students an insight into the business world.  This year it was held in early May at the University of Waterloo's Ron Eydt Conference Centre.

About 80 Grade 12 students from area high schools were selected by nine Rotary clubs in Kitchener, Cambridge, Fergus and Guelph for the camp, which continues through Thursday.

The camp gives the students an "opportunity to meet with successful business and community leaders to explore the nature, development and opportunities of the free-enterprise system," said Iain Muir, camp chairman. There was be a series of panel discussions and team presentations on business and private enterprise.

Our club, with the assistance of the Guidance Department at Bishop Mac, sponsored 3 young ladies to attend this year:  Angela Vo, Johanna Palma and Kyla Dynan.  They spoke to our club on May 15th on their experience - summarized as great food, great speakers and great experience overall!

Thanks to Rotarian Frank Oudesluys for once again coordinating our club's involvement in this important Vocational Service opportunity.
