Rotarian Ann Caine, a charter member of our Rotary Club, was among thirteen exceptional Ontarians that received the 2010 Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship for their contributions to their communities. Created in 1973, the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship recognizes people who have made exceptional long-term contributions to the quality of life in the province.

The ceremony was hosted by the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. Though a press release, he explained he value of the recognition. "This group of outstanding Ontarians has positively changed the lives of many people in their communities. I am pleased to present them with the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship for their exemplary service and passion."

The provincial minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Dr. Eric Hoskins, added that, "Ontarians receiving this award are examples to us all of what it means to be active in helping their communities. They inspire us to make a difference in the lives of our neighbours and to work for the betterment of our communities and our world. We honour them for their important contributions to Ontario."

"Ann D. Caine has committed herself to children with special needs and their families by founding Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre in Puslinch."

We're all so proud of you Ann!
