On Monday April 14th "Buzzie" the Bee and President Elect Karen Dowell presented a $4,500 cheque to Program Director Karen Calzonetti at the Playsense Activity Centre in Guelph.

The donation represented half of the proceeds of the 2007 Grate Groan-Up Spelling Bee, and will be used by Playsense Activity Centre for adaptive computer equipment and a virtual reality system.

Playsense Activity Centre welcomes many individuals with special needs who enjoy all kinds of recreational activities in a sensory adapted environment.  Our Rotary club was part of the joint effort in 2005 for Rotary's Centennial that saw the 4 Guelph Rotary clubs raising $118,000 towards the establishment of the Playsense Activity Centre.  And the Rotary Club of Guelph South continues to support Playsense with hands-on projects and donations for equipment.
