The members of the Rotary Club of Wellington South are proud to be funding the 10 fog collectors for the project that will determine the feasibility of collecting adequate potable water from fog in the arrid relatively unoccupied side of Margarita Island, Venezuela.
On December 2nd we welcomed Melissa to our weekly breakfast meeting, where she presented us with the project plan for her visit to Margarita Island.
Melissa will be in Margarita Island herself, supervising the project, for the period of January through March 2005.  She will arrange for local people, and will train them, to assemble and install the fog collectors and measure and record the water that is collected.
President Neil Mahnke and Director/International Service Chair Kate Brookfield presented Melissa with our cheque for $2,000 - a donation that will cover the cost of the 10 fog collectors for the project.
Melissa will return to our club in May 2005 and will present her final report...we will be excited to hear about her adventure and hopefully very positive results for the people of Margarita Island!
