WHO SAYS GRADE SCHOOL STUDENTS WON'T USE A DICTIONARY???  On Monday February 9th our Rotary Club visited their second school, the new Rickson Ridge Public School in the south end of Guelph, where they handed out dictionaries to the Grade 3 student, then watched the students dive into them...

The Grade 3 Dictionary Project is a Rotary District 7080 project.  The goal of this program is to assist all students in completing the school year as good writers, active readers and creative thinkers by providing students with their own personal dictionary.  The dictionaries are a gift to each student to use at school and at home for years to come.

Reading is the most important skill of all.  It is the starting point for all the economic and social opportunities this world has to offer to an individual.  The success of The Grade 3 Dictionary Project is due to the tireless efforts of Rotarians and volunteers who have made a personal commitment to improving literacy and the quality of life in their community.  Our volunteers are the breath of life of The Grade 3 Dictionary Project.  This project gives 100% of every dollar toward the purchase of dictionaries and materials.

Thanks to the Rotarians who took time out of their busy day to hand out dictionaries:  Kevin Cahill, Karen Dowell, Anna Lammerding & Thomas Newby.  Thanks also to Rotarian Neil Mahnke who organized the project for the 2 schools involved this year.
