Grand River Conservation Foundation

Founded in 1965, the Grand River Conservation Foundation (GRCF) channels donations from individuals, foundations, groups and businesses to Grand River Conservation Authority projects. More than $13 million has been raised to educate kids about the outdoors, restore vital wetlands that cleanse our water, provide habitat that promotes wildlife diversity and offer opportunities for people to simply enjoy their natural world. The Grand River and its tributaries support one million people. In the coming years, that population is predicted to increase dramatically. As we contemplate this growth, we must also consider the best way to maintain the balance between human prosperity and the health of our natural systems for the long-term sustainability of our people, wildlife, lands and most of all, our water. The Rotary Leadership Institute is offered to refine a rotarian's individual leadership skills and increase their base of knowledge in Rotary. The courses are open to ALL rotarians in District 7080. For further information please see http://www.rli-shiningwaters.org/
RLI consists of three parts, I, II and III, to be taken progressively. Each part is a one day seminar, those taking Part II must have completed Part I; to take Part III, Part II must have been completed. The Parts are divided into 6 modules of approximately 60 minutes each. Attendees register for one part only at a cost of $75.00 which covers welcome refreshments, breaks, lunch and materials. (This fee is reimbursed by the district for new Rotarian (within the last 2 years) and by most individual rotary clubs for all others.... Please check with your President.)

Urban Sugaring Project

John Dennis is the Coordinator of the Urban Sugaring Project and co-founder of Syrup in the City. The Urban Sugaring Project allows participants to collect sap and have it collectively boiled to syrup by volunteers. Syrup in the City is Guelph's annual maple syrup festival which takes place at John McCrae Public School. You will often find John at the Tool Library fixing broken tools or driving around town picking up donations. |

The Nightingale Centre for Bereaved Children, Youth, and Families

The death of a parent or sibling is one of the most psychologically devastating events that a child or adolescent can experience. The Nightingale Centre is a non-profit organization that has been created to provide grief and bereavement support to children, adolescents, and their families in Guelph and Wellington County who have experienced, or are anticipating, the death of a family member. They give hope to grieving children, youth, and families through their dedicated bereavement services. |

The Shelldale Centre in Guelph is a community hub for various services and organizations, providing an integrated service model through experienced staff and hundreds of dedicated volunteers. Shelldale Family Gateway is a provider of EarlyON programs (for ages 0-6) through the County of Wellington, as well as specialized services through grants and donations designed specifically to support the unique needs of children, youth, and families in Guelph’s Onward Willow neighbourhood. |
