Tour de Guelph is a cycling event in support of The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital and local Rotary projects through the Rotary clubs of Guelph South and Guelph Trillium. In it’s first five years, this event has raised over $300,000 for our community and has grown into one of Guelph-Wellington’s largest community sporting events. The ride continues to grow each year, now attracting close to 1,000 riders. About 100 volunteers help with the event from planning to marketing, and helping on the day of the event. The majority being Rotarians, plus many other individuals and local business leaders lend a hand. This allows the majority of the proceeds received from sponsorship and peer-to-peer fundraising to go directly to important community initiatives. We are grateful for the continuing involvement of Presenting Sponsor Scotiabank, along with the other corporate sponsors and generous donors. Tour de Guelph is for all ages and abilities and welcomes participation from community members as well as visitors to Guelph-Wellington. For more information on registration options and routes available, check out the website www.tourdeguelph.ca and thanks for your support! |

Jul. 25, 2019 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
(Rain date: Tuesday, August 6, 2019) The Rotary Club of Guelph South is once again partnering with Sunrise Therapeutic Riding & Learning Centre to host children from the Shelldale Family Gateway program. This is the third annual event and each prior year has been a wonderful success - for the kids, for Sunrise and for club members that participated. Activities are expected to include swimming (with a Sunrise lifeguard on duty); low ropes course (a Sunrise Camp Coordinator will supervise); a fully accessible playground; informal soccer game; and a BBQ. Sunrise will have T-shirts to hand out to children and craft material for them to take home. Our Rotary club is donating funds to cover the costs associated with the bussing of the children and Shelldale Family Gateway staff to and from Shelldale. We need approximately 12 volunteers to assist with the following duties: poolside, ropes course, soccer game and food setup, BBQ, coffee, cold drinks, sound system setup, etc. We need 2 or 3 Rotarians to be there between 4:00pm and 5:00pm to help the Sunrise staff with the set-up and 2 or 3 to stay after the children leave to help clean up and get the area ready for the camp the next morning. Food (for everyone) will include hot dogs, hamburgers, cake and ice cream. If you would like to volunteer at the event, please email Ann Caine and let her know where you would like to help. Thanks everyone!

Grand River Conservation Foundation
Oct. 10, 2019
Founded in 1965, the Grand River Conservation Foundation (GRCF) channels donations from individuals, foundations, groups and businesses to Grand River Conservation Authority projects. More than $13 million has been raised to educate kids about the outdoors, restore vital wetlands that cleanse our water, provide habitat that promotes wildlife diversity and offer opportunities for people to simply enjoy their natural world. The Grand River and its tributaries support one million people. In the coming years, that population is predicted to increase dramatically. As we contemplate this growth, we must also consider the best way to maintain the balance between human prosperity and the health of our natural systems for the long-term sustainability of our people, wildlife, lands and most of all, our water. Our goals are to:
