The 2025-2026 District 7080 Governor, Susanne Zbinden, made her first official visit to our Rotary club on September 25th 2025.  The in-person meeting, held in the evening at Symposium Cafe in Guelph, featured presentations by the DG, the club and a special new member (Lauren Jamieson) induction.  A donation of $1,000 is being made to The Rotary Foundation's PolioPlus Fund in appreciation of her visit.  As well a photo album has been prepared photoalbums/2025-district-7080-governor-visit.  Attendees included members, Friends of Rotary and a member of the University of Guelph Rotaract Club.

We're proud to welcome Lauren as our newest Rotarian! Lauren was introduced to the club by Rotarian Celia Clark who will act as her sponsor. Lauren is not a stranger to many members, having attended meetings and volunteered at events, and in fact is our first “Friend of Rotary”  to make the move to becoming a full Rotarian and Active Member of our Rotary Club.

We have recently welcomed Sean Carscadden as our newest member.  We hope to have him do his Classification Talk within the next couple of months, but Sean is an Air Ambulance pilot with the Ornge so his availability can never really be guaranteed….medical emergencies don't necessarily respect Rotary meeting dates/times!  We'll look forward to that opportunity to learn more about Sean….
