The Rotary Club of Guelph South held a special evening meeting on June 9 2025, the reason being the presentation of Paul Harris Fellowships to 11 Active members, 1 Honourary Member, 5 Friends of Rotary and 2 non-Rotarian volunteers from the community. The prestigious recognition, named for Rotary founder Paul Harris, celebrates those whose lives and work reflect Rotary’s highest ideal "Service Above Self". We were joined by representatives of District 7080: District Governor Sohail Naseer, District Governor-Elect Susanne Zbinden and District Foundation Chair Tom Mennill, all of whom spoke to those in attendance. DG Sohail also presented club President John Persson with a “100% Paul Harris Fellow Club” banner, indicating the rare achievement of a club having all members having been designated as Paul Harris Fellows. “This evening is about celebrating people who make a difference – often without seeking recognition,” said Club President John Persson. “Our honourees lead by example and remind us what it means to serve with heart, humility, and dedication.”
Honourees included Rotarians Charlie Barnes, Stefanie Bradley, Lise Burcher, Hazel Dickie, Donna Gorjup, Matt Hiskett, Shamsuddin Nasir, John Persson, Nick Ryall, Veronika Sorek, Dave Turvey. Honourary Member Linda Main. Friend of Rotary Andrea Bardos, Bella Hodgkinson, Lauren Jamieson, Gordon Webb, Ellen Webb. Community Volunteers Stephanie Douthwaite, Lisa Pearson.
Congratulations to all and thank you for your continued service to our Rotary club and to your community!
