"Supporting the Environment" is Rotary's 7th and newest Area of Focus, and we have some activities scheduled during this month that feature environmental issues.
April 20th:     For our weekly meeting our club members will tour the University of Guelph's Honey Bee Research Centre, to learn about the important research they are doing there focused on the health of these important pollinators

April 22nd:    Earth Day!  Members will participate in the Trees for Guelph tree planting on Clair Road in Guelph

April 29th:    Our Rotary Club is proud to be sponsoring arborist care for a magnificent old Black Walnut tree in Woodlawn Memorial Park.  As the first project of Tree Trust Guelph this elder tree will receive the care it needs to ensure that the city will have the benefits of its huge canopy and root system for as long as possible. This legacy tree is estimated to be as old as the cemetery itself at 160 years.

April 29th:    Weather permitting, our club members will also participate in one of the road clean-ups in Aberfoyle (on Brock Road) that we have been doing through the County of Wellington's "Adopt-A-Road" program since 2008.
