On November 8th 2012 we were honoured to welcome MBdr Evan Shields who spoke to us about his career in the Canadian Military, including serving in Afghanistan.  "MBdr" is the "Master Bombardier" rank in the Canadian Artillery branch of military.  MBdr Evan is a Guelph native, a reservist bombardier with Guelph's 11th Field Artillery who served in Afghanistan in 2008 and 2009.  His inspiration for a military career is his grandfather, Howard Wilson, a Second World War veteran and soldier for 31 years.  We are grateful to Rotarian Geoff Allen and his wife Deb for arranging such an inspirational speaker during Remembrance Week!
