November 28 2023 is "GivingTuesday" that day following Black Friday and Cyber Monday when we turn our thoughts from commercialism and instead to how we can make a donation towards a charity of our choice.  The Rotary Foundation is Rotary International's charity, and Rotary Foundation Canada is the Canadian arm, that receives donations and issues tax receipts.  November is also Rotary International's "Rotary Foundation Month". If you don't already, please consider making them your charity of choice today!   For more information on The Rotary Foundation (Canada) including information on its Board of Directors, project stories and audited financial statements go to http://trfcanada.org.

Ways To Give To The Rotary Foundation (Canada)

There are numerous ways to support The Rotary Foundation (Canada). Your donation changes lives! Every amount contributed to The Rotary Foundation (Canada) is spent in support of humanitarian, educational, and cultural programs and their operations. Clubs and districts apply for and receive Rotary Foundation grants to carry out worthy projects worldwide.

Here are a few of the ways that your contribution can make a difference:
  • $100 can buy textbooks for one elementary school in Zambia

  • $5,000 can buy vaccine to immunize 10,000 children against polio

  • $24,000 can buy an academic-year Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship

  • $100,000 can buy funding for two to complete a two-year graduate program for a Rotary World Peace Fellow
Our Rotary club has received District Grants for projects in an Ontario indigenous community (a water disinfection system for a school) and in Haiti (kitchen renovations and rooftop solar power system for a maternity clinic).  Our club has also made contributions in support of other larger District and Global Grants that other clubs in District 7080 have launched, including the Water First project spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Guelph that is training youth in indigenous communities to operate and maintain drinking water systems.
