Rotarians across Wellington County will come together on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 to advocate for peace. Charged by Rotary International, Rotary will host a dinner to advocate for global peace beginning at 6 pm at Guelph Place, 492 Michener Rd., Guelph.

Dr. Ian Spears, associate professor, Department of Political Science, University of Guelph will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Spears has spent his professional career studying conflict and war; why it remains such a part of our contemporary world; and, how to put an end to war and conflict.

Who is invited?           All members of the community including youth, immigrants to forge new friendships and partnerships

Why?                           The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace is one of the cornerstones of the Rotary movement. Rotary has established itself as a world leader in fostering Peace Through Service. Rotary has accomplished a great deal in this area throughout our history, but we must continue to look forward and recognize the future of Rotary and the future prospects for world peace.
